Salary and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000-$80,000, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, EAP, PTO, and paid holidays.
Job DescriptionThis role involves working through the full patient experience, from pre-procedure to post-procedure, and includes responsibilities in the surgery suite. Key tasks include:
- Timely retrieval of individual records upon request
- Monitoring the collection, processing, maintenance, storage, and access to patient and clinical records
- Assisting with pre-operative and post-operative visits
- Providing support to RNs with opening and closing duties
- Preparing instruments, equipment, and operating rooms
- Charting and preparing surgery notes and progress notes
- LPN/LVN support for physicians during procedures as needed
- Cleaning and sterilizing operating rooms and instruments
- Explaining treatment procedures, medications, and physician's instructions to patients and caregivers
- Scheduling follow-up appointments
- Maintaining medical supplies
The physical demands of this role include using the telephone, computer, and other devices while communicating with patients, caregivers, physicians, and staff. The ability to stand and walk for periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, and have good vision and hearing acuity is also required.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have a valid and current State LVN/LPN License, ACLS certification within 90 days of hire, and maintained annually. Sound clinical judgment regarding wound assessment is essential. You must be able to interpret various instructions and write reports and correspondence. Additionally, you should have the ability to problem-solve and clarify necessary steps of logic and reasoning in a professional manner. Familiarity with MS Office, including Excel, and basic math skills are also required.
