Job Description

We are seeking an experienced administrative officer to join our team. As an administrative officer, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and directing district administrative programs in support of the mission of the U.S. Marshals Service.

  • You will plan the work to be accomplished by subordinates, establish priorities, assign work, evaluate work performance; and provide advice, counsel, and guidance to subordinates.
  • You will serve as a principal advisor to U.S. Marshal and Chief Deputy for all financial and administrative policies and procedures.
  • You will monitor procurement of operational and administrative supplies and contracts.
  • You will apply a wide range of statistical and quantitative analytical methodologies in developing short and long-range district budgets based on fiscal allocations from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
  • You will oversee the Property Management program for district office to include the district vehicle fleet.
  • You will facilitate all district personnel related functions to include coordination for Human Resources activities within the district with the Human Resources Division (HRD).
Required Skills and Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to or at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes:

  1. Reviewing policies and procedures to recommend improvements to administrative operation's effectiveness and efficiency;
  2. Providing advice related to personnel functions such as hiring, employee performance, and/or training;
  3. Applying a variety of purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies using purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or fixed price negotiated contracts;
  4. Analyzing budgetary information to ensure accurate status of obligations, accruals, and paid transactions; and
  5. Monitoring and managing the procurement and acquisition of large and complex operational and administrative supplies and contracts.
