Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Care Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our children's group home. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring the health, well-being, and safety of clients, managing staffing and labor hours, and training direct support professional staff.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain open communication with conservators, family members, service coordinators, and other client representatives regarding client health, well-being, and quality of life.
  • Manage staffing levels in accordance with program design by hiring, training, and scheduling staff to ensure adequate supervision and support of clients.
  • Oversee daily business operations, including client notes documentation, medication audits, personal and incidental funds disbursement and audits, physical plant inspections, and time card review and amendments.
  • Attend trainings as mandated by Regional Centers to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding quality care assurance and maintain safety compliance to prevent staff and client injury.
  • Responsible for resident care, including scheduling medical appointments, following up on doctor recommendations, and ensuring the overall medical condition of residents.
  • Act as first responder in emergency situations and report special incidents according to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Requirements
  • DSP 1 and 2 certifications required.
  • Children's Group Home Certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities, preferably in a managerial role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
