The Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to support the Cardiothoracic Surgery team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).

This role focuses on providing high-quality care to peri-operative CTS patients, with a strong emphasis on post-operative patient outcomes. The goal is to optimize the physical and psychological health of this patient population through efficient management of evidence-based practices.

The Cardiothoracic Surgery IMCU Service ensures that best practices are implemented for the cardiothoracic surgery patient throughout all phases of care, from pre-operatively to outpatient follow-up.

Responsibilities
  • Providing post-operative care in the IMCU for cardiothoracic surgery patients
  • Participating in quality care initiatives and evaluating patient care outcomes

The ideal candidate has a dedication to high-quality care and excellent customer service. A cardiothoracic surgery background and at least two years of advanced practice experience in an acute care clinical setting are highly preferred. Critical care background is also desirable.
