Job Summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a leading pediatric care provider, is seeking a skilled Pediatrician to join our team in the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients and help train neonatology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students at our academic children's hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

We are committed to delivering exceptional care and promoting quality improvement work through our participation in the Children's Hospital Neonatal Consortium (CHNC). Our division has a strong focus on providing the highest level of quality care, resulting in excellent health outcomes that exceed national averages for critically ill newborns.

  • Work in a Level IV NICU with an average daily census of 25 babies.
  • Collaborate with neonatal nurse practitioners, fellows, and pediatric residents as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement work and participate in research opportunities, including studies on immunology, inflammation, and infectious disease, neurodevelopmental outcomes, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, and chronic lung disease.
  • Provide neonatal Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) within the NICU.
  • Participate in education and training programs, including simulation education and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medicine or equivalent.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics or Neonatology-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for Commonwealth of PA.
  • Strong interest in teaching and contributing to quality improvement work.
