Electrical Engineer Job Description

Bunge North America is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Instrument, Controls and Electrical (ICE) team. This role will focus on electrical engineering and related areas, with a mix of close electrical support to sites, support to key business initiatives, and project engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical support to sites, including design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with in-house resources and engineering contractors to deliver projects that align with BNA initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local code requirements.
  • Develop and implement electrical standards, specifications, and data sheets related to ICE deliverables.
  • Review and evaluate electrical equipment testing and maintenance reports, including Dissolved Gas Analysis for transformers.
  • Experience with Arc Flash, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, harmonic studies, and instrumentation, controls, automation, PLC integration.
  • Specify, install, and operate electrical distribution system design and modifications, including switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls.
  • Review ICE drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Power and Lighting Plans, Grounding and Lightning Protection Plans, Elevations, Wiring diagrams, Motor control schematics, and loop drawings, Riser diagrams, Installation details, Schedules (panel schedules, cable schedules, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an engineering degree with heavy experience in these fields.
  • Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in power distribution design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Field experience with medium voltage (600V to 33 KV) and low voltage.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) or CEC (Canadian Electrical Code), NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B.
  • Experience with reviewing and evaluating electrical equipment testing and maintenance reports, including Dissolved Gas Analysis for transformers.
  • Experience with Arc Flash, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, harmonic studies, and instrumentation, controls, automation, PLC integration.
