Job Summary

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of HVAC technicians, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of technical services to our customers. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid technical background in HVAC, and a track record of driving both operational efficiency and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing and resolving any issues related to service performance and budget adherence.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality HVAC services, maintenance, and risk management services.
  • Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate job cost estimates for HVAC projects and monitor and manage project budgets to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build high-performing teams through recruiting, hiring, training, and development of employees.
  • Implement metrics and key performance indicators to measure and improve performance.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship training to team members, setting clear expectations, goals, and performance standards.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Engage in employee relations by resolving conflict between team members, conducting employee investigations, and issuing corrective actions based on findings.
  • Manage performance management processes by collaborating with team members to establish goals, monitor and evaluate progress, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, empowerment, and engagement among team members in a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards related to technical services, building codes, occupational health and safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies for work order management, labor hours, invoicing, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure efficient and effective operations by developing and monitoring performance metrics and continuously improving processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in HVAC in the commercial industry required; mechanical contractors license preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and apply sound business judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office365 products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel as required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
