Academic Adviser

We are seeking an experienced Academic Adviser to join our team at Penn State University. As an Academic Adviser, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students.

The Academic Adviser will provide academic advising services to undergraduate students, including those in their first and second years of college. You will work closely with faculty advisers, staff, and campus constituents to promote academic and career success.

• Proactively advise undergraduate students to promote academic and career success.
• Assist faculty advisers in understanding advising policies, planning tools, and university programs.
• Implement New Student Orientation and assist with retention interventions for at-risk students.
• Interpret University policies and procedures and curriculum to students, faculty, staff, and University constituents.
• Engage actively in the campus, college, and university community.

• Masters degree and 1+ year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
