Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill and injured children. This individual will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, utilizing advanced assessment and intervention skills to promote optimal patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pediatric critical care, with expertise in managing complex acute and chronic conditions. This includes the ability to perform invasive interventions and procedures, as well as provide education and consultation to patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage complex acute and chronic conditions in pediatric patients
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, incorporating health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Provide education and consultation to patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in scholarly activities and professional development
Requirements:
  • DNP, MSN, or Post-Graduate Certificate with specialization as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner
  • Graduate of master's or doctoral level physician assistant program
  • At least 1 year of nursing or medical experience, with experience in the subspecialty area preferred
  • Eligibility to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the State of Alabama
