Job Summary

Catholic Charities is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Worker to join our team. As a Direct Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their maximum independence and safe community integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a role model and encourage positive interactions with others.
  • Assist individuals with job duties at job sites, teaching all steps of the job tasks and how to complete them in a timely manner.
  • Provide training to individuals in all skills agreed upon on the Individual Plan.
  • Ensure open lines of communication with individuals, staff members, and administrators.
  • Report seizures, behavioral episodes, injury or illness, client concerns, and/or other medically or emotionally related problems to the house manager, supervisor, nurse, and team members immediately.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or High school Diploma with 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must have Medication Administration Certification or must be able to obtain Medication Administration Certification upon the next available Med Cert Course immediately following hire.
  • Demonstrates organizational ability, communicates effectively with individuals served and members of the team.
