About Valor HealthcareAs a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, we operate more than 50 VA CBOCs in the United States. Our comprehensive set of services includes primary care, diagnostics, laboratory, telehealth, behavioral health, and more. We provide a full range of medical services to veterans through the operations of CBOCs, tailored to meet the specific needs of local VA medical centers.
Job DescriptionThe Primary Care Physician will be responsible for providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic. Key responsibilities include actively diagnosing and treating our veterans, examining patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders, developing and implementing patient management plans, ordering and performing diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, and counseling patients on the use of prescription medications.
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients
- Examine patients for symptoms
- Develop and implement patient management plans
- Order and perform diagnostic tests
- Presume medication and recommend dietary and activity programs
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Complete clinical reminders due at the time of each patient visit
- Document medical records within 24 hours of a patient encounter
- Solicit medical management consult or input when appropriate
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree, Board certification in family practice or internal medicine, and current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS. Proficiency in written and spoken English is also required. Excellent computer skills and a strong service mentality are essential for success in this position.
