Bartender - Part-Time Position at Mayo Civic Center

Bartender Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to guests at the Mayo Civic Center. This role requires a personable and professional individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining excellent attendance and being available to work events as scheduled.
This is a tip-eligible position in addition to an hourly rate of $15.00. Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching, as well as one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.
Responsibilities
- Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus, providing service as described.
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state and federal regulations.
- Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits available, and be able to suggestively upsell products to guests.
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
- Check guest's ID in accordance with state and federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
- Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns.
- De-escalate intoxicated guest situations, contacting management or security as required.
- Request additional product or restock product as required.
- Ability to handle cash accurately is required, with the employee responsible for issued bank at their bar.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station at all times, ensuring bar equipment is clean and well-maintained.
Qualifications
- Six months or more experience bartending.
- Accurate cash handling skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
- Bartending school preferred.
