Tesla is committed to accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. As a member of our Optimus Simulation team, you will play a key role in driving this mission forward by creating highly realistic 3D virtual environments and assets for robotic interaction. Collaborating with Software Engineers, robotics experts, and fellow artists, you'll help build highly realistic environments to scale our testing and training efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D navigation maps, manipulation environments, and 3D assets to meet various simulation testing and training needs
  • Work closely with the Optimus Simulation team to continually improve and automate asset and environment creation workflows
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in 3D environment creation technologies to drive innovation and agility in responding to internal customer requirements
Requirements
  • Proven experience in high- and low-fidelity 3D object modeling and production pipelines
  • Experience in 3D scanning and motion capture pipeline operation, including clean-up and optimization of assets
  • Familiarity with producing content for real-time ray-traced PBR rendering engines
  • Proficiency in creating assets using procedural tools, ideally Houdini
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in languages like Python, Vex, C++, or others for pipeline automation

Estimated annual salary range: $96,000 - $276,000, plus cash and stock awards, and benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
