Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Inspector (Landscape Architecture) to join our team at Atlas, a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting services. As a Construction Inspector, you will assist the Resident Engineer in all aspects of required field Landscape Architectural Construction Inspection services and office engineering work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in field inspections and office engineering work.
  • Understand client and customer needs.
  • Operate within the customers' safety protocols at all times.
  • Complete all required documentation, including Inspector's Daily Reports.
  • Perform inspections for quality workmanship, including field measurements of construction materials and products.
  • Monitor construction Contractor's quality control operations, traffic control operations, and environmental contract requirements.
  • Identify changes, errors, or field adjustments to the contract documents and recommend action to the Resident Engineer.
  • Monitor Prevailing Wage laws, regulations, and labor compliance.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a four-year curriculum in Landscape Architecture.
  • A documented minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in Landscape construction inspection of highways or major public works projects.
  • Experience working with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) standards, specifications, and Construction Manual and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to travel to job sites, sometimes for extended periods.
