Job Title: Psychiatrist

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced psychiatrist to join our team at Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical oversight and work closely with our multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients by interviewing, conducting physical examinations, and reviewing medical history and related documents.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescription of psychotropic medications.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment results, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise the work of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a psychiatric residency in an ACGME-approved residency program.
  • Valid CA medical license (Psychiatrist).
  • Board certified or board eligible.
  • Valid DEA certificate.
  • 2 years' experience working full-time as a psychiatrist.
  • Competency restoration and/or forensics experience preferred.
Working Environment:

Our hospital is a 117-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital with six inpatient units. We have a unique treatment approach that emphasizes a multidisciplinary team approach to acute stabilization and competency restoration. Our team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, internal medicine physicians, nurses, therapists, and mental health techs.
