Job Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Support professional to join our team. As an Accounting Support specialist, you will perform various clerical accounting tasks under the supervision of the Controller, Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager. This role involves supporting division/corporate interactions, data entry, transaction posting, initial account analysis, and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Controller, Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager in executing their responsibilities, including division/corporate interaction, data entry, transaction posting, initial account analysis, and reconciliation.
- Prepare and enter general ledger accounting entries.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts.
- Review SG&A expenses and assist functional teams with proper coding.
- Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors on invoices.
- Maintain and update various trackers for accounting and finance teams.
- Review employee expense statements/reimbursements for accuracy and documentation.
- Post bank deposits and create related cash receipt journals.
- Ensure digital records are processed correctly.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses, reports, and projects as needed by division management.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the company's goodwill and profit.
- Ability to work overtime.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to two years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to accurately process and record a large volume of numerical data.
- Ability to focus under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to balance competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
- Ability to sit for most of the 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision.
