Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Sales Development Representative to join our team at WP. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the standby generation field. You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining regular contact with customers to ensure their needs are met;
  • Supporting sales personnel with sales-related tasks;
  • Providing quotes based on specifications;
  • Participating in the development of customer quotes;
  • Maintaining close relationships with customers, sales staff, service staff, and branch managers;
  • Identifying decision-makers and reporting them to the sales team;
  • Maintaining knowledge of WPI products and services to identify opportunities;
  • Reporting sales leads to management and sales teams;

You will also be responsible for promoting positive and professional relationships within the company and between divisions, as well as performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience or a college equivalent;
  • A high school diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree (or higher), or experience of equal value in an applied discipline preferred;
  • Sales or customer service experience in the standby generation field preferred;
  • A working knowledge of the position and its relation to the overall business and objectives;
  • Ability to meet goals and objectives set by the company;
  • Conformity to company policies and procedures;
  • Protection of company assets and interests;
  • Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Administration rules and regulations (if applicable);
  • Current driver's license and proof of insurance (if applicable);
  • Dependable transportation (if applicable);
  • Self-starting and highly motivated individual;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, days, and weekends (as necessary);
  • Computer literacy in a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook);
  • Dependability and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Maintenance of good client relations and professional appearance;
  • Promotion and maintenance of a clean, neat, and safe work environment;
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight;
  • Ability to effectively motivate, supervise, and evaluate others;
  • Accuracy in following written and verbal instructions;
  • Meeting minimum performance standards for all assignments;
  • Observation of all safety rules and regulations;
Working Conditions

This role involves:

  • Typical hours of work from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm;
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends (as necessary);
  • Sitting; occasional bending or kneeling; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; reaching overhead for light weight items;
  • Office and outdoor work;
  • Some temporary adjustments to starting and quitting time as workload requires;
