Job Summary

The Brazos River Authority is seeking a highly skilled Construction Projects Manager to oversee the implementation, management, and placement of rehabilitated, newly constructed, and/or expanded capital improvement projects. This role will manage and oversee Project Coordinators, Central Office operations and maintenance, and Reservoir System Maintenance Units (RSMU) staff responsible for facility maintenance and improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage capital improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Oversee Project Coordinators, Central Office operations and maintenance, and RSMU staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with BRA project teams, consulting engineers, testing consultants, general contractors, third-party Resident Project Representatives (RPR), suppliers, BRA management, project and operating staff, customers, regulators, and others to ensure projects are planned, implemented, administered, and constructed as designed.
  • Supervise staff, develop budgets, present information to BRA Board of Directors, provide peer review and technical support for new design projects, and make recommendations to upper management on project matters.
  • Oversee a team of reservoir maintenance workers responsible for heavy industrial maintenance activity at BRA reservoirs and construction project coordinators who provide site observation and input on various construction projects.
Requirements
  • A minimum ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education in construction management.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Preferred: Certified Construction Manager or Registered Professional Engineer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA (Construction Mgmt./Civil Engineering) - Completed course requirements to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
