Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Vestracare. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and treatment to long-term and rehabilitation residents
- Assess and document patient information, including vital signs and medical history
- Initiate and administer intravenous treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other medical staff
- Review and evaluate patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes
- Transcribe physician orders and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- May assist in orienting new staff members and maintaining competency in site-specific tasks
- Work closely with the RN Supervisor to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications, and record patient medical information and vital signs
- Assess patients' ability to perform routine daily tasks and recognize and manage geriatric syndromes common to older adults
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
- Communicate with family members regarding patient care and progress
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and entirely, promptly, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York
- Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
