Job Overview

MSCCN is a dynamic organization seeking a skilled Police Officer to join its uniformed patrol staff. This role is assigned to Field Operations, where you will be responsible for preventative patrol, traffic enforcement, emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and investigations concerning criminal matters.

About the Role

This is a full-service, 24-hour police agency that embraces community-oriented policing and neighborhood problem-solving. As a Police Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with specialized functions within the department, including the K9 unit, drone program, bike patrol (including eBikes), firearms instructor, evidence technician, detective, emergency vehicle operations instructor, defense and arrest tactics instructor, field training officer, community service officer, and crowd control team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To apply, you must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age, high school graduate or equivalent, possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license, binocular vision correctable to 20/20, no color blindness, and no criminal record substantially related to the work of a police officer. You should also possess good physical and mental health, weight reasonably related to height, and 20 fully accredited college credits. Additionally, you must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer, use standard police equipment, perform all police use-of-force techniques, and verbal and written communications.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a $4,500 bonus for lateral recruitments hired in 2024. Qualified lateral transfers will also receive up to two weeks' sick leave dependent upon years of experience. The Chief shall have discretion to start a newly hired employee at any step commensurate with the officer's prior experience: one year of seniority, three years of seniority, five years of seniority, and seven years of seniority.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $70,000-$100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
