Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other related equipment. They will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with fleet vehicles, ensuring timely delivery and minimal downtime.
This role offers an estimated salary of $26.00 per hour, along with benefits starting from day one, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance. A $5,000 retention bonus is also available for eligible new hires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other related equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Document all repairs and maintenance tasks, keeping accurate records of parts used and labor hours
- Collaborate with other mechanics to achieve efficient workflow and meet deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a commercial diesel mechanic or refrigeration technician
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
- Able to lift up to 120-150 pounds and push/pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive company vehicles
