As the Division Director of BoardBook, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, financial growth, and operational excellence of our BoardBook division. This role is a critical external-facing position that interfaces directly with our board membership, and you will play a key role in the success of many other areas of the Texas Association of School Boards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically analyze and prioritize member and customer needs, developing appropriate services and partnerships to meet those needs.
  • Develop and operate within annual budgets, achieving the cost center's objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with BoardBook school board association partners to maintain effective relationships and ensure resources are aligned with individual state needs and realities.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting cost center requirements, establishing revenue goals, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Engage in short and long-term planning to set priorities for the most effective and efficient use of all resources.
  • Supervise sales, technology, and support team members with one administrative support staff.
  • Oversee client relations and product support, including the development of appropriate user training materials.
  • Lead the BoardBook team to achieve division expectations for productivity and quality.
  • Oversee development and implementation of strategic marketing and sales efforts and forecasts to achieve BoardBook objectives.
  • Implement outbound sales and marketing activities to develop appropriate support levels for a growing customer base.
  • Attend relevant state and national conferences to promote BoardBook.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years related management experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience successfully overseeing sales and marketing programs.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing and managing budgets.
  • 5 or more years of experience hiring, evaluating, and supervising employees.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to present technical ideas and solutions to customers in a non-technical user-friendly language.
  • Ability to travel nationwide with some overnight stays for work-related functions.
  • Ability to anticipate problems, handle and resolve ambiguity, and take decisive action.
  • Ability to make decisive, sound business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, and justifiable.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to successfully manage and prioritize work.
  • Technology skills in website management and use of content management software.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships by phone and email and close soft sales.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
