Becoming a Senior Mental Health Therapist at NYC Health + Hospitals means being part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality care to our patients. As a Senior Mental Health Therapist, you will play a critical role in coordinating programming, screening referrals, and participating in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a doctoral degree in psychology, a valid license as a psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education, and at least four years of experience in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology. We also prefer candidates with experience in psychology assessment, providing therapeutic services, and treatment planning.

We estimate that the salary for this position will be around $120,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards. However, the actual salary may vary depending on various factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

This position involves coordinating programming, screening referrals, and participating in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in psychology, a valid license as a psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education, and at least four years of experience in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of programming
  • Screening of referrals
  • Coordination and presentation of Performance Improvement data, participation in the quality assurance program on the Unit, implement and document quality improvement
  • Investigation of PHP incidents and report writing
  • Representation at Incident and Special Committees
  • Oversee and coordinate patient and primary care which involves full clinical responsibility for evaluation, treatment, coordination of medical milieu, and dispositional needs and appropriate documentation

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in psychology
  • Valid license as a psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education
  • At least four years of experience in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology
