Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Nurse to join our team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. As a Registered Nurse in this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency department setting where you will be responsible for providing high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care. You will coordinate patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively communicate the patient's clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Care: Performs population-specific comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of the patient's condition and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: Follows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- Documentation and Communication: Documents the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner utilizing the appropriate tools. Provides an accurate and pertinent report of the patient's condition for safe transfer of care.
- Triage and Hemodynamic Status: Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories. Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret the results.
