Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team at the University of Miami. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for compiling amounts owed to medical facilities and maintaining accurate records of orders, invoices, and payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients, insurance companies, and laboratories with inquiries regarding billing issues.
  • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all necessary information is present.
  • Print and reconcile daily appointment voucher reports, ensuring that all vouchers are accounted for.
  • Enter, review, and retrieve patient account information from the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Submit completed batches to the appropriate billing offices daily.
  • Follow up on claims submitted to monitor payment status and ensure timely resolution.
  • Transmit coded patient treatment information to payers and other recipients.
  • Coordinate insurance reimbursements with care providers.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
  • Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
