Job Description:

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Oncology team at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. As an Oncology RN, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer, administering treatments, managing symptoms, and offering emotional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Evaluates the needs of the patient and/or family and provides support, appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient services and effectively delegates to ancillary personnel.
  • Executes the plan of care for the oncology patient, including medication administration and symptom management.

Qualifications:

  • Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required.
  • Prior Oncology RN work experience and certification, preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
