About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Academic Guidance Specialist to join our team at Post University. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to make a meaningful impact on student success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their goals. As an Academic Guidance Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing guidance and support to students, helping them navigate academic programs, and ensuring they stay on track to meet their objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized guidance and counseling to students on academic progress, course selection, registration, degree selection, and work/life/study issues.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify barriers to student success and develop solutions that improve retention.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Work closely with other university offices to ensure seamless support for students, including Admissions, Student Finance, Academics, and the Registrar.
  • Stay up-to-date with university systems, policies, and procedures to provide informed guidance to students.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of academic programs and university policies.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including Blackboard, Campus Nexus, and Microsoft Office Suite.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Our team is dedicated to supporting student success, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of our students.

Location

This role is based at our Waterbury campus, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
