Nocturnist Opportunity at Baylor Scott & White

We are seeking a dedicated Nocturnist to join our Hospital Medicine team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of our nocturnist team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to our commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

About the Role

  • Assess patients' physical and mental conditions through comprehensive examinations and medical histories.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests to diagnose and manage patient problems.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend therapies, always prioritizing efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine, professional guidelines, and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Counsel patients and families about medical processes, medication management, and health promotion.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatment plans and outcomes, initiating timely consultations and referrals as needed.
  • Provide consultation-level services for complex cases within your area of expertise.
  • Participate in hospital rounds, assist with admissions and discharges, and offer on-call support.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Less than 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification or licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer

Estimated Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year
