Division Operations Senior Job Description

At MITRE, we're committed to tackling our nation's toughest challenges and creating a fulfilling work environment for our employees. As a Division Operations Senior, you'll play a critical role in executing the division strategy and achieving key outcomes across MITRE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the division strategy in collaboration with the Managing Director
  • Manage and execute L110's work programs, planning and executing financial and operational activities
  • Identify collaborative opportunities within and across MITRE Labs and the FFRDCs to develop shared outcomes for greater impact
  • Support opportunities to build an inclusive work environment within L110
  • Lead and coordinate L110's summer intern program across L110 departments
  • Responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the Division, working with Division and Department leadership, as well as PLs and financial managers
  • Support the Managing Director in building and managing relationships with key partners
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Two years of project or people leadership experience
  • Experience working with the Federal Government
  • Demonstrated experience in building trusted relationships
  • Clear and articulate written and verbal communications, combined with a technical and business understanding
  • Demonstrated professionalism with senior MITRE and sponsor leadership
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong understanding of at least one of L110 technical areas, including networking engineering, networking security, cloud and containerization, wireless and satellite communications, IT service management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with budgeting and staffing
  • Business understanding of FFRDC operations
  • Degree in technical management
