Procurement Inventory Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Inventory Specialist to join our team at the Broad Institute.
About the Role
The Procurement Inventory Specialist will be responsible for performing receiving functions, processing and reconciling packing slips, forwarding goods delivered to loading dock, and entering related data into the SAP financial system in preparation for invoice payment.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a group. The ideal candidate will have experience working with computerized inventory control systems and possess intermediate computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Process purchase order receipts in SAP financial system
- Perform timely and accurate inventory transactions in SAP
- Verify accuracy of delivered goods by comparing packing slip documents with the contents of each delivered package
- Organize delivered inventory, notify departments of delivered goods, and secure signature approval for materials and equipment
- Assist in unpacking of items, dispose of shipping materials, and prepare items for vendor installation or Broad Facilities Group assembly
- Apply asset tags to incoming equipment as directed
- Communicate with Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator regarding problems related to purchase orders, deliveries, etc.
- Monitor and replenish minimart supplies, conduct recurring physical inventory of stockrooms and lab storage, and notify Coordinator and team leaders when new items are requested or available
- Perform inter-building equipment moves as directed by Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator
- Participate in glass wash, equipment sterilization, plate labeling, and other duties as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience in inventory management with computerized inventory control
- Experience working with computerized inventory control and stocking is required
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Windows and email applications, are required
- Must be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to exercise good judgment
- Some experience with biological and chemical products preferred
- Effective written communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with all levels of Broad Institute staff and vendors
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a 20-foot delivery truck are required
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings plan and paid time off.
