Burn Center Nursing Role
At Akron Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Nurse to join our Burn Center team. As a Staff Nurse in this role, you will provide exceptional patient care, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served, regardless of age and developmental status.
- Perform leadership and professional duties, including patient-centered care, quality improvement, and safety duties.
- Participate in the development and education of staff members for clinically related issues, and may be responsible for precepting new employees and acting as a mentor to the clinical staff.
- Support the provider staff and actively promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care, and legendary customer service for pediatric patients using a team approach.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required. Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned department or unit.
- A valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with three 8-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift. The position is onsite at Akron Children's Hospital.
