Job Summary

Boys Town is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Campus Pediatric Clinic and Same Day Pediatrics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary care services to children residing in our residential community, as well as acute care services for general pediatrics in our after-hours Same Day Pediatrics Clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized medical care to patients in the ambulatory clinic setting, including collection of relevant patient history, physical and/or mental health assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Order necessary diagnostic tests relevant to patient condition and utilize results to determine appropriate treatment for the patient.
  • Perform procedures such as I&D, splinting, suturing, or simple lesion (wart) removal, based on knowledge, skills, and abilities, as applicable to clinical area.
  • Complete timely, thorough documentation of the patient visit in the electronic medical record.
  • Order pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments indicated in management of the acute illness or health condition.
  • Respond to onsite emergencies and provide prompt, and appropriate care until EMS arrives.
  • Provide relevant education and discharge instructions to the patient/family related to the acute presenting illness or health condition and need for follow-up.
  • Consult with physician and hospitalists as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in nursing required.
  • Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of Nebraska required.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record required.
  • CPR certification required.
