Controller Position

Virtual is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead the accounting department and functions. This position is responsible for overseeing month-end close, WIP reporting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, experience in public accounting, and a strong understanding of regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of actual monthly financial results compared to budgets, financial analysis and trends, and any other required information and analysis to assist the CFO, COO, and other senior executives.
  • Be the lead and point person with professional firms for quarterly reviews, annual financial audits, and related SEC filings ensuring compliance with all regulations without exception.
  • Departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement policies and procedures for the accounting group to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business – Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience in construction, technology, and/or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with Big 4 or similar national firm.
  • Public company experience as Corporate Controller.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Complete understanding of and adherence to regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP.
  • Tax reporting and analysis experience.
