About the Role

The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience and help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. You will work collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project, receive mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and participate in monthly educational sessions. The program is tailored to provide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and nursing standards
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in patient records
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers of unintended reactions
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up measures
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate degree in Nursing with active license to practice in the state
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment
  • No previous experience needed, but some travel may be required for training
