Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in improving clinical documentation across our organization, ensuring that patient charts accurately reflect their medical history and treatment.
Responsibilities:- Review patient charts to audit clarity and full reflection of severity in care team documentation, considering CMS coding guidelines.
- Provide ongoing education and training to clinical care teams on current trends in documentation and coding.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement to develop and maintain efficiencies within the Clinical Documentation department.
- Enter clinical review data and related anticipated follow-up in the CDI system of record to truthfully demonstrate current state discovered via chart review.
- RHIA, RHIT, and CCS certifications (Preferred)
- CCDS or CDIP certification (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (Preferred)
- High level of creativity, judgment, and initiative, tempered with flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing healthcare environment and expanding technology.
- Ability to maintain concentration with attention to detail even in areas containing multiple levels of distraction.

Estimated salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
