About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Physical Stores Security team at Amazon. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying secure and reliable distributed systems that protect our physical stores and customer data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly available and scalable distributed systems to secure physical stores and customer data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables
  • Build and deploy quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team
  • Invent new features, design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed services
  • Work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, C++, GO, and JavaScript

About the Team:

The Physical Stores Security Software Development team is a cross-discipline team that owns services, technology, and capabilities to secure physical stores at scale. We build security systems required to securely operate stores, IoT devices, and novel devices like Amazon One and Dash Carts. Innovation is part of our DNA, and our goal is to be Earth's most customer-centric company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
