Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to join our team at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.

About the Role

This is a full-time, salaried position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our café bakery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and high-quality product delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe, including scheduling staff, handling inventory, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new staff and baristas, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed, to ensure we have the necessary ingredients and equipment to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain updated records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and expenses, providing valuable insights into our business performance.
  • Suggest new menu items based on seasonality and customer preferences, working closely with our ownership team to develop innovative and delicious offerings.
  • Advise staff on resolving issues with clients and delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring we maintain a positive reputation in the community.
  • Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy, meeting our high standards for hygiene and presentation.
  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation, working collaboratively with other departments to support student education opportunities and internships.
Requirements
  • Managerial experience working in the food or hospitality industry, preferably with 3+ years of experience in café, bakery, or restaurant management.
  • Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines and restaurant equipment, ensuring you can manage and maintain our facilities effectively.
  • Availability to work within operating hours, including weekends and holidays, with a flexible approach to scheduling.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team, ensuring everyone is working together towards our shared goals.
  • A customer-centric service attitude, with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences that exceed customer expectations.
  • High school diploma or GED, with special consideration given to those with additional education, such as a degree in Culinary or Pastry Arts, Business Administration, or Business Management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with a strong understanding of spreadsheet analysis and financial management.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks, ensuring you can balance multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
Salary

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
