Travel Cardiac Catheterization Technologist

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled travel cardiac catheterization technologist for a challenging opportunity in Santa Maria, California.
About the Role:- We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced cardiac catheterization technologist to join our team.
- Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with cardiologists and other medical staff to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab).
- Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are sterile, functional, and properly set up before each procedure.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms, before the procedure begins.
- Assist in preparing patients, including setting up monitoring equipment and ensuring proper positioning for optimal procedure results.
- Provide patient education and reassurance before the procedure, explaining what will happen and answering any questions.
- Assist cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
- Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during the procedure, ensuring correct placement and maintaining a sterile field.
- Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests, such as angiograms, to visualize blood vessels and heart function.
- Monitor vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, during procedures and report any abnormalities to the physician.
- Administer medications under physician direction, such as sedatives or contrast dyes, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patients for immediate complications after the procedure, such as bleeding, changes in vital signs, or signs of infection.
- Assist in transferring patients from the procedure table to recovery, ensuring comfort and safety during transport.
- Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and the insertion site for any signs of complications, particularly bleeding or hematoma formation.
- Provide post-procedure instructions to patients and their families, including advice on post-operative care, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.
- Certification in cardiovascular technology (CCT) or registered radiologic technologist (RT(R)).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a cardiac catheterization technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
The salary for this position is $140,000 per year, based on an 8-hour shift schedule and 40 hours per week. This includes a tax-free stipend amount that will be determined at a later time.
