Job Summary

Amtec Inc. is seeking a skilled Materials Manager to oversee the planning, procurement, and distribution of materials and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the supply chain cycle, manufacturing industry, and organizational structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient procurement and management of materials.
  • Oversee the ordering of materials, supplies, and equipment from suppliers to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers, negotiating contracts for payment terms, goods, and services.
  • Monitor materials availability, supplier performance, and raw material inventory turns.
  • Proactively communicate purchased material shortages to relevant parties to meet On-Time Kit metrics and Purchase Price Variance goals.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements in supply-chain programs and day-to-day purchasing activities.
  • Coordinate Corrective Action activities between Amtec Inc. sites and suppliers.
  • Manage the Materials Department staff, including Buyers, Inventory Analysts, and Stockroom personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience buying electronic components and/or PCBs.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a team, preferably in the electronic manufacturing services market sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials management accounting processes, cost benefit analysis, inventory control systems, and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, inventory control, and supply chain management.
  • PC literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Outlook software.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Mathematical skills with ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
