Mold Maintenance Specialist

At Syntec Optics, we are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for providing technical support for new and existing tooling and fixturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of tool repairs and modifications to ensure the most economical, efficient, and practical methods are incorporated into the tool/fixture design.
- Use machine schedules as a guide to prepare tools for production and ensure timely delivery.
- Responsible for CNC mill setup for production departments and work closely with Program Managers, Molding Technicians, and Quality personnel to inspect new tools.
- Collaborate with Production personnel to understand and inspect fixturing requirements and ensure compliance with engineering protocols.
- Responsible for in-house tool preventative maintenance, recording maintenance performed, and tool storage.
Additional Responsibilities:
- May work on special projects and various related assignments as requested by management.
- May be required to compile various reports and data tracking to support business decisions.
- May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary to support production goals.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required to support the team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Two-year college degree or equivalent experience in the field.
- Journeyman papers from a 4-year Tooling program.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledgeable in engineering protocols.
- Basic understanding of metrology, preferably optical metrology.
- Familiar with various trade tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good math skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
