Job Summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a skilled Conservation Site Specialist to join our Ohio Stream and Wetland In-Lieu Fee Mitigation Program (OMP).

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with conservation partners to identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential restoration sites throughout Ohio. Your primary responsibilities will include outreach to conservation partners, research of potential sites, evaluation of properties for their feasibility and mitigation potential, and development of maps to illustrate the site's resources and restoration approach.

This is a hybrid position that can be located in a home office anywhere within Ohio, with occasional travel to our Dublin office. We offer a dynamic work environment, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a chance to make a meaningful impact on conservation efforts in Ohio.

About the Role

The Site Selection Specialist will work under the supervision of the Associate Mitigation Program Manager and collaborate with other TNC staff to identify and assess potential wetland and stream restoration sites. Your expertise will be essential in understanding and implementing OMP procedures and objectives, and in developing innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

* Outreach to conservation partners and others regarding the OMP's needs for restoration sites
* Research of potential sites, including evaluation of properties for their feasibility and mitigation potential
* Development of maps to illustrate the site's resources and restoration approach
* Estimation of preliminary project budgets and mitigation credits
* Coordination of initial site assessments and writing of preliminary restoration concept plans
