About the JobThis position is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients while assisting with the provision of basic patient care and recovery needs.
- You will support the unit through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance.
- You will collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes.
- You will perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
- You will assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support.
- You will provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field is preferred.
- You must be eligible and apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of placement in the job, unless a higher credential is held.
- You must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date.
- You have current BLS certification.
- Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and can demonstrate that they have been well grounded in their own mental health recovery for at least one year.
- One (1) year of direct patient care experience is preferred.
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, First Aid training is required.
