Job Overview

MWH Constructors is seeking a highly skilled Senior VDC Engineer to support the construction of a Water Treatment Plant in the greater Portland area. This project will be a significant infrastructure development, supplying 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Digital Delivery practices, leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Construction (VDC) technologies to enhance project delivery and collaboration. They will work closely with project teams to develop and maintain 3D model content, create detailed construction models, and produce fabrication Iso's and Ortho's for Process piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Digital Delivery practices, leveraging BIM and VDC technologies
  • Develop and maintain 3D model content, create detailed construction models, and produce fabrication Iso's and Ortho's for Process piping systems
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement VDC/Digital Delivery applications and practices
  • Support on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of VDC/Digital Delivery applications and practices
  • Review trade partner BIM/VDC qualifications and advise project team during buyout of VDC services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher university degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related technical degree plus 5 years of related engineering or technical experience
  • Hands-on experience in the use of Autodesk-based Building Information Modeling (BIM) toolsets and work practices, including minimum of 5 years of professional level application experience with Revit, Navisworks
  • Project scheduling familiarity covering development of baseline schedules, incorporating subcontractor schedules, schedule updating and analysis of progress, including project compliance processes and audits
  • Experience with reality capture tools and practices (laser scanning, drone data capture, and/or point cloud generation)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and other normal business applications
