Winter Day Camp Counselor Position at YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Winter Day Camp Counselor to join our team at the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading, and assisting group activities, as well as providing a safe and inclusive environment for our campers.

About the Role

This is a seasonal, full-time position with the opportunity to work 40 hours per week. As a Winter Day Camp Counselor, you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our young members and develop your skills in youth development and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead group activities, including swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and more.
  • Supervise campers during activities and ensure their safety at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates and reports.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Clean and sanitize facilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Six months or more of related experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience working with children and diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and equipment setup.
  • Able to pass background and reference checks.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate: $16.28-$16.78 per hour.
