About the Job:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team at Imagine Staffing Technology, An Imagine Company.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coding and analysis, with a passion for patient care. You will work with cutting-edge technology and a supportive team dedicated to excellence in patient care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate medical records, codes principal, secondary diagnoses and procedures documented within the record to justify treatment rendered and collect accurate patient data.
  • Abstract coded data as required by SPARCS and Health Information policy.
  • Query or confer with attending physicians when there is uncertainty in the documentation of the medical record.
  • Retrieve coded data for evaluation, research, and/or planning in CHS.
  • Assist in submitting/correcting SPARCS data errors.

Requirements:

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Medical Coder (CMC) certification from AAPC.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or Associate's degree in Health Information Technology.
  • Six months of experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
