Job Title: Communications and Public Advocacy Intern

UN Women is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications and Public Advocacy Intern to support the execution of the Secretariat's communications and social media strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the communications team in creating and scheduling content across UN Women's social media platforms, newsletters, and event coverage.
  • Assist in brainstorming and executing social media strategies to amplify relevant campaigns and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the scheduling, systematization, and organization of all UN Women social media and communications content.
  • Explore live conversations, calls for action, and social media activations.
  • Support the communications team in drafting, updating, and translating content for the UN Women global website.
  • Assist in creating an internal database of media contacts and publications relevant to UN Women and its work.
  • Support the organization of outreach and advocacy events, as well as other UN Women engagement and missions throughout the year.
  • Assist the advocacy team during meetings and engagements with partners and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • University studies in international relations, gender studies, social and/or political science, international development, human rights, international law, or other relevant subjects.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required.
  • Working knowledge of another UN language, especially French and/or Arabic, is an advantage.
What We Offer:

Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
