Building Controls Engineer

About the Role:

Convergint is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Specialist (Building Controls) to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing and supporting existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs, and small projects business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications, and contracts to determine and advise on technical project requirements.
  • Manage various aspects of projects, including estimating, designing, tracking, start-up, and planning phases.
  • Provide input, reviews, and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams based on project plans and specifications.
  • Offer custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
  • Install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid technical and computer-based skills, proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to job sites on a regular basis.

Education:

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum experience: 3-5 years control system engineering and field startup.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Alteron or Delta building controls.
