Job Title: Lead Materials and Process Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Materials and Process Engineer to join our team at Middle River Aerostructure Systems. As a key member of our Materials and Process Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of materials and process solutions to support our production programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Materials and Process Engineering team in the development and implementation of materials and process solutions to support production programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve material and process-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical requirements, objectives, and timing for materials and process-related projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineering technicians, hourly shop personnel, and others.
  • Execute plans to achieve defined project and departmental goals.
  • Effective, timely, and accurate communication to internal customers, supply chain, and external customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an operations-based role/environment.
  • Technical background in composites or other similar materials-based industry.
  • Experience with Engineering drawings and materials and process specifications.
  • Working knowledge of material analysis techniques (microscopy, mechanical testing, physical property testing, etc...)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail with minimal direct supervision.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Aerospace materials processing and testing experience.
  • Six Sigma training is preferred.
  • MS office proficient
