Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities
  • Assist radiologists and primary practitioners in obtaining optimal radiographs for interpretation, adhering to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Position patients for appropriate views, provide immobilization devices as required, and select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Operate equipment as necessary for exams or as directed, process digital images, and provide radiation and safety protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Assist physicians in administering opaque and contrast media, and necessary medicines as ordered by the radiologist.
  • May be responsible for specific areas of instruction for ancillary personnel, practice sterile techniques, and prevent cross contamination.
  • Transport patients from the floor to the department and on and off the appropriate exam area/table.
  • Assist as necessary in surgical procedures by taking portable x-rays in the surgical suite, select and use appropriate technical factors for taking portable radiographs.
  • Work as an individual and as a team member depending on department staffing, take assigned call periods for imaging services, and prepare patients for and assist in Radiology/Ultrasound/Mammography/CT procedures.
  • Correctly and consistently process patient paperwork, maintain adequate records within the department, and maintain orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Secure and return supplies, cooperate with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department, and rotate within the department or other departments and by shifts or days of the week as directed.
  • Pull and refill patient cards, reports, and films, operate shift with cost consciousness to avoid over usage or unnecessary waste of materials and/or staff, and pursue continuing education techniques and protocols of various radiographic exams.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Certification by and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing, and maintenance of a license as Certified Radiologic Technologist with the State of Washington.
  • Current CPR Certification, and one year of relevant experience.
  • Completes all licensure and/or certification requirements.
