About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Review Engineer to join our team at the City of Auburn, WA. As a key member of our Community Development Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that development projects in our city meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process civil engineering development projects and associated permits and applications for compliance with City development regulations and standards.
  • Perform as an integral participant in Permit Center activities, providing engineer staffing and customer service to the Permit Center.
  • Assist the Development Engineering Manager and City Engineer with the Public Facility Extension process for the extension of public infrastructure required in conjunction with private development projects.
  • Carry out responsibilities related to floodplain issues, including the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations, FEMA Letter of Map Change (LOMC) processes, and FEMA guidelines and guidance documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of applicable civil engineering experience, or a combination of education and experience that meets the minimum qualifications.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation or Professional Civil Engineering (PE) license.
  • Floodplain Manager Certification or the ability to obtain within the first year of employment.
  • Valid state driver's license without impending loss at time of appointment.
